Department of Digitalization

The Department of Digitalization (DIGI) is one of the largest of its kind in Europe. Our aspirations are equally grand for our research and for our degree programmes. The department´s research concentrates around research themes which are topical, popular, inter-disciplinary and dynamic in nature. Currently DIGI focus on IT Challenges in Mergers and Acquisitions, Internet of Things, Cashless Society, Big Social Data Analysis, Cloud Business, Sharing Economy, Blockchain Technology, and Sports Digitalization.

The Department of Digitalization carries out research in the following research areas:

  • Design
  • Implementation
  • Use and exploitation
  • Information management

We strive for high and good cooperation with industry and community providers and organize our research to respond to the rapidly evolving pace and radical innovation that characterizes the IS research area. We achieve this by organizing part of our research on areas that solve social or business challenges. The areas are current, popular, interdisciplinary and dynamic. In addition to the research areas, DIGI maintains still the more traditional research areas for the disciplinary development of researchers.
