Gyldendal's dictionaries are now part of Ordbogen.com

Your online dictionary is getting a new look. because Gyldendal's Dictionaries have been acquired by Ordbogen.com, CBS students and faculty have access to the dictionaries both online and offline.

Your online dictionary is getting a new look. Gyldendal's Dictionaries have been acquired by Ordbogen.com and therefore the library's online dictionary will look different in the future. Ordbogen.com is easy to use. CBS students and faculty have access to the dictionaries both online and offline. 

Which dictionaries are included? 

Ordbogen.com contains the well-known red dictionaries from Gyldendal as well as a large number of specialized dictionaries such as Regnskabsordbøgerne (The accounting dictionaries) and Gyldendal's economic and legal dictionaries:

  • Gyldendal's red dictionaries (English, French, Spanish, Swedish, German)
  • Regnskabsordbøgerne (accounting dictionaries)
  • Specialised dictionaries (economic: Danish-English-Danish, law: Danish-English-Danish and Danish-German-Danish, medicin: Danish-English-Danish) 
  • Restskrivningsordbogen (Danish spelling dictionary)
  • Fremmedordbog (Foreign words dictionary) 
  • Synonymordbog (Synonym dictionary) 

 
Basically, you look up all the dictionaries at once. However, you have the option to use a specific dictionary by marking it as a favorite (click on star). 


Download to your computer and mobile 

The "Ordbogsprogrammet" can be downloaded to your computer, so that you always have all the dictionaries at hand. You must be on the CBS network to download Ordbogen.com's dictionaries for offline use: 
 
Download to computer

  1. Go to Ordbogen.com
  2. Click Download at the top of the page
  3. Select "Single User" and your operating system and accept the license terms
  4. Install the file
