Stine Jacobsen is an interdisciplinary researcher and HR professional with a PhD in Social Sciences and Work Life Studies. She coordinates the Global People Management BA course at CBS, integrating global leadership, international HRM, and intercultural practices within the Nordic Nine framework. Her teaching combines theory with critical reflection and practical relevance. She specializes in organizational studies, leadership, diversity, and sustainable work life, and promotes inclusive, collaborative learning environments that support academic depth and real-world application.
Professional and/or academic experience
Stine has led and contributed to a range of interdisciplinary research projects focused on working life, motivation, well-being, and educational support. These projects span national and international collaborations and have contributed to the development of new methods and insights in HRM, organizational development, leadership & management, and education studies:
SPESUP – Special Educational Support Meets Thesis Supervision (2023–present). An internal research project at Aarhus University, where Stine serves as Principal Investigator. The project explores the intersection between special educational support and thesis supervision, in collaboration with psychologist Rudolf Kjeldsen, HR7, and educational advisor Dorthe Friis Pedersen, KU.
Working Life Conditions for Parents of Young Children (2011–2015). PhD project conducted at the National Research Centre for the Working Environment (NFA) and Aarhus University. The study examined how Danish families organize work and family life, focusing on well-being, demands, and maneuvering in modern working life. Funded by the Danish Working Environment Research Fund.
Staying on Track (2019). An education science project at Aarhus University, funded by the Velux Foundation. The project investigated dropout rates among youth in education, applying self-determination theory to analyze motivation and decision-making processes.
WESP – Well-being, Productivity, and Self-management (2008–2012). A collaborative project between CBS, NFA, and DTU Management. The research explored the relationship between self-leadership, productivity, and well-being in contemporary work environments. Funded by the Danish Working Environment Research Fund.
HRM, Work Environment, and Welfare Intersection (2009–2010). A joint project between CBS, SFI, and NFA. It analyzed the intersection of HRM, occupational health, and welfare, contributing to integrated organizational strategies. Funded by the Danish Working Environment Research Fund.

Pedagogical experience/method skills/supervision
Stine has extensive teaching experience at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, focusing on organizational theory, leadership, HRM, and diversity. Her pedagogical approach is interdisciplinary and practice-oriented, drawing on critical and inclusive methods. Stine supervises in the fields of organizational theory, leadership, HRM, diversity and inclusion, and psychosocial well-being. She is currently enrolled in the Teach&Learn course ‘Supervision of Master's Thesis’ to qualify for master's thesis supervision, in accordance with departmental requirements.
Stine has completed a wide range of courses to enhance her teaching and research practice, with recent emphasis on AI in education.
