Green backlash dynamics: Understanding the role of media in shaping green policy countermobilization
In my work, I investigate contemporary backlash dynamics against green policies in the context of rivaling crises, increasing political polarization and populist party successes.
Against the backdrop of an emerging reversal trend in green commitments, I study how the public discourse is evolving, how media coverage is shaping policy acceptance, and how pro-environmental actors seek to retain visibility and public support for the green agenda. With my research, I hope to contribute to debates on the resilience of the green transition in democratic countries in the context of competing crises and changing voter priorities.

Investigating discourse and power in the governance of the green transition
I am a PhD Fellow affiliated with the Department of Organisation (IOA) and the Department of Management, Society and Communication (MSC) at Copenhagen Business School. I work at the intersection of political science, media studies, and political economy. In my research, I study how the discourse around green policies has changed following the Covid19 pandemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which marked a new era of geopolitical tension and economic instability in Europe. Specifically, I am interested in the phenomenon of green policy backlash and the role of media dynamics in mobilizing public resistance.
