Primary research areas
I connect finance, politics, and social change
My research examines the political and social dynamics that shape the rise - and recent retreat of green finance. Working at the intersection of economic sociology, political economy, and social movement studies, I explore how activists, NGOs, and financial institutions negotiate the boundaries of sustainable investment.
Through qualitative fieldwork in Europe and North America, I study how public pressure and political backlash influence the financial sector’s commitment to the green transition. My work contributes to understanding how democratic legitimacy and social mobilization can make sustainable finance more resilient.
Ultimately, I aim to bridge the gap between civil society and finance, offering insights that can help policymakers, investors, and citizens strengthen the social foundations of the green economy.
