Primary research areas

ESG and the ocean economy
The research aims to advance the use of ocean-related data in developing robust ESG metrics that enhance investor decision-making and industry practices in ocean-dependent sectors

I bridge science, markets, and sustainability to protect our oceans

I am a Sustainability Researcher working at the intersection of social, management, and environmental sciences. My research helps integrate ESG considerations into ocean financing, ensuring investments create economic value while supporting ocean health and coastal communities. Through my role in the project Making Oceans Count—in collaboration with Hub Ocean and the Green Digital Finance Alliance—I contribute to the development of ESG metrics that reveal ocean-related risks and opportunities. This enables investors and industries to better account for their reliance on ocean ecosystems and to move toward more sustainable practices. I am motivated by the belief that science should not stay on paper. My goal is to bridge knowledge and practice by designing tools, strategies, and teaching cases that support companies and financial institutions in taking responsibility for the ocean’s future, while equipping students with the skills needed to become future sustainability leaders.

Innovation alliance for training programmes for deforestation-free supply chains in Europe

The EMMA4EU project will foster EUDR implementation by bridging different disciplines and sectors in forestry, agriculture and business & commerce and connecting their key actors through an alliance. This will enable knowledge exchange and create a new profession: the Deforestation-free Supply Chains Manager.
