Overview:
My research critically examines the role of multinational enterprises (MNEs) in promoting sustainable development, with a focus on the institutional issues posed by technological changes. I use qualitative methods to analyse how industry-specific factors interact across country contexts.
Research topics:
・Global value chains: upgrading and governance
・Institutional analysis of technological change
・Sustainability and responsible business
・Business-government relationships
・Foreign direct investment (FDI)
・Qualitative research
Country/industry interests:
- Asia, Europe, and developing countries
- Manufacturing sector (e.g., automotive, robotics, and other traditional industries), including opportunities and risks in digital transformation.
- Logistics industry
- Energy sector
