Re­new­able hy­dro­gen and green fuels from sec­tor coup­ling tech­no­lo­gies are cru­cial for the de­fos­sil­isa­tion of the in­dus­tri­al, long-dis­tance trans­port­a­tion and heavy-duty trans­port­a­tion sec­tors.
En­ergy in­fra­struc­ture de­vel­op­ment
The en­ergy trans­port­a­tion and dis­tri­bu­tion net­works re­quire a de­vel­op­ment that en­ables the real­isa­tion of the en­ergy trans­ition.
En­ergy mar­ket design
The mar­ket design and reg­u­lat­ory frame­work must pro­mote and sup­port the de­vel­op­ment of the ne­ces­sary in­fra­struc­ture and busi­ness mod­els.
En­ergy sys­tem ana­lys­is
The cli­mate-neut­ral en­ergy sys­tem drives the design of en­ergy in­fra­struc­tures and busi­ness mod­els as­so­ci­ated with the ap­plic­a­tion of re­new­able hy­dro­gen and green fuels.

I cre­ate op­por­tun­it­ies for the green trans­ition

Johannes Giehl is a Postdoc at the Copenhagen School of Energy Infrastructure at the Copenhagen Business School. His research in energy system transformation focuses on renewable hydrogen and energy infrastructure development, energy economics and sector coupling business models.

He studied at the Technische Universität Berlin, the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in industrial engineering. The study focus of his master was on energy management and energy system modeling. The research of his PhD project at the chair of Energy and Resource Management at the Technische Universität Berlin focuses on the changes to the energy system and infrastructures due to the energy transition and the opportunity for new business models and the political, regulatory measures that promote them.
