Finding New Ways to Create Progress Through Technology and innovation
Reza Toorajipour is a PhD fellow at the Department of Digitalization at Copenhagen Business School, and a visiting scholar at Graduate School of Education, Stanford University. Reza has studied, taught, and conducted research across three continents, Europe, Asia, and North America. He has earned several certifications and licenses in business model innovation and entrepreneurship from Harvard University, MIT, Delft University of Technology, Technical University of Denmark, among others. Reza’s research explores the role of emerging technologies in shaping businesses and society. His academic work lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and blockchain, with a particular focus on how these technologies enable new forms of digital ecosystems and innovative business models. With a strong emphasis on sustainability, he investigates how organizations can leverage data-driven solutions to design and scale circular practices, such as extending the life cycle of electric vehicle batteries or enabling more resilient supply chains.
His research portfolio includes contributions to the understanding of artificial intelligence in supply chain management, the development of business models for AIoT-driven ecosystems, and the application of blockchain in international trade. By combining theoretical insights with practical frameworks, he aims to bridge the gap between technological potential and organizational implementation and provide guidance for businesses navigating digital transformation. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as International Journal of Information Management (IJIM), Journal of Business Research (JBR), Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Business Strategy and the Environment, among others.
Before joining Copenhagen Business School, Reza gained academic and research experience across Europe and the Middle East. He has taught various courses in Denmark, Sweden, and other countries. Prior to academia, he worked extensively in the entrepreneurial sector, engaging with a wide range of startups and incumbents.
