Management Research in Time of Heightened Defense and Security

If your research goes to war, will you, too?

As countries increase their military budgets, more money will be available for defense-related research – including, for instance, making organizations more resilient, investigating what type of innovation is most readily adaptable to crisis situations, or how to de-risk global value chains. Individual researchers will need to decide whether they want to support their university’s national innovation programs or retreat to smaller and smaller non-defense-related research budgets. These ethical decisions affect professional career paths and may derail the neutrality of academic research for many years to come. LINK
