The position will be based at the Department of Finance at Copenhagen Business School and is part of an ERC starting Grant project lead by Associate Professor Arna Olafsson.
 

Your tasks

Your tasks will mainly involve quantitative data analyses and programming. We can make far better progress on our ongoing research with support from a motivated student like you on the following tasks:

  • Quantitative data analysis, research, and coding
  • Raw data pre-processing, data analysis and visualization
  • Quantitative analysis of economic, financial, and performance variables
  • Statistical modelling and testing of financial data
  • Literature reviews of relevant background and current works


Start date: July 2026
 

The project

This research project lies within household and behavioral finance, with a focus on topics related to gender differences in financial decision making. The project is based on a collaboration between Copenhagen Business School (Prof. Arna Olafsson) and a bank that provides detailed transaction-level data for all its customers that also involves the administration of surveys to the bank customers that will be linked to the bank data.
 

Your profile

The assistantship will require:

  • A curious, motivated, and creative mindset
  • Good programming skills
  • Good quantitative data analysis skills in Stata, R or Python
  • Understanding of basic financial and economic concepts
  • Experience and understanding of statistical analysis techniques
  • Basic experience with LaTeX
  • Motivation to learn new research topics and tools
  • Team spirit and interest in collaborative projects

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Already holds a bachelor’s degree;
  • Is enrolled in a Master’s Program in Finance , Economics or related disciplines
  • Has a background in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics with a keen interest in finance and economics.

Salary and terms of employment 

Employment takes place in accordance with the HK organisational agreement and the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Publicly Employed Organisations (OAO-S Collective Agreement). 

The salary currently ranges between DKK 142,98 and DKK 149,99 per hour and is dependent on previous employment in the office profession and level of education. The pension contribution amounts to 16% of the pensionable salary components. 

It is a prerequisite for employment that you are an active student at a higher educational institution.
