Copenhagen Business School invites applications for a Research Assistant position to support the activities of the Centre for Business and Development Studies (CBDS) and three externally financed projects: the Africa, Business and Society (ABS) initiative; the D-CORE: Dark Side of Corporate Responsibility research project; and the MAPOCAVU (Market Power, Climate Change and Vulnerability in Tanzania’s Food Value Chains) research project – all based at the Department of Management, Society and Communication (MSC).

The research assistant will be employed on-site at Copenhagen Business School for 3 years (for a range of 33,5 to 37 hours a week). This post is open to all irrespective of the candidate’s current location but will require on-site presence at CBS. If necessary, CBS will support the chosen candidate with visa procedures.

The expected starting date is August 1st 2026.

 

The research assistant will be responsible for:

  1. carrying out ad hoc research assignments, such as undertaking thematic literature reviews or help with transcribing data.
  2. communicating activities and results of the projects/CBDS through various social media platforms and maintaining the relevant websites.
  3. organizing events, such as seminars, workshops and conferences, including travel logistics when applicable.
  4. supporting the production and editing of dissemination activities, such as working papers, policy briefs, blogposts, podcasts and videos.
  5. supporting the reporting and managerial duties of the directors/PIs of the three research projects and CBDS.

 

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a master’s degree, or equivalent qualifications, in the social sciences and have a professional proficiency in English (written and spoken). They should have prior experience of conducting literature reviews (for example for a Master Thesis project), be proficient in social media engagement, website editing and in helping manage events and dissemination activities. Candidates who have research experience on/in Global South contexts are particularly encouraged to apply.

Terms of employment

Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

Recruitment procedure

The Recruitment Committee expects to shortlist minimum two applicants; when possible five or more applicants will be shortlisted. The shortlisted applicants will be assessed by the Assessment Committee. All applicants will be notified of their status in the recruitment process shortly after the application deadline.

Applicants selected for assessment will be notified about the composition of the Assessment Committee and later in the process about the result of the assessment.

Once the recruitment process is completed each applicant will be notified of the outcome of their application.
