About the course
What you will learn
The student must demonstrate ability to communicate in intermediate Japanese.
- Can read aloud with relative fluency in terms of pronunciation, speed and suitable pausing while allowing for occasional mis-readings.
- Can engage in conversation, comprehending questions and responding appropriately although occasional hesitation, repetitions and re-starts may occur. S/he may have pronunciation/intonation/stress issues that require listener adjustments, but on the overall level, s/he is intelligible.
- Can utilize a variety of familiar vocabulary and grammar patterns at an intermediate level.
- Can provide a summary (in Japanese) of a written text (in Japanese)
- Can demonstrate knowledge of Japanese grammar in terms terminology and structure.
