Eva Boxenbaum conducts research on how organizational actors shape the spread and institutionalization of new management ideas and practices. Her research focuses on cognitive, material and visual dimensions of these processes, as well as their intended and unintended consequences at the field level. She directs Center for Organizational Research on Impact (CORI) and leads the collective research project TITAN: Turning Theory into Action, which is funded by the Velux Foundation. Her work has been published in journals such as Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Annals, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Studies, California Management Review, Strategic Organization, and Research in the Sociology of Organizations. In recognition of her impactful qualitative and conceptual research, she received the prestigious 2021 EliteForsk Award as well as the 2019 DSEB Research Award.
She is Associate Editor for Organization Theory, a pluralist theory journal published by SAGE and associated with EGOS, the largest European community of organizational scholars. In 2022-2023, Eva Boxenbaum was Division Chair for the Organization and Management Theory (OMT) Division of the Academy of Management. OMT has around 4000 scholarly members around the world and is recognized internationally as an Excellent Science community within the field of Management.
Eva Boxenbaum is the programme director of Master of Management Development (MMD), an executive part-time degree at CBS.
She is also a member of the Board of the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art and of the board of Copenhagen Business School.
