About the course
What you will learn
At the end of the course the students should be able to:
- Understand and apply basic statistical concepts from probability and statistics.
- Demonstrate critical assessment skills regarding measurement choices for important social, political, and business concepts.
- Identify and evaluate the assumptions behind the statistical methods introduced in the course.
- Discuss the fundamentals of statistical inference and carry out null hypothesis testing.
- Apply multiple regression analysis to social science and business datasets (country and individual level) and interpret the specific results including coefficients, standard errors, p-values, etc.
- Be able to use statistical software (R) to generate descriptive plots and statistical results relevant to objectives above. Provide thorough interpretation of the output from the software.
