About the course
What you will learn
The student must demonstrate the ability to communicate in intermediate Chinese.
- Can read with relative fluency in terms of pronunciation, speed and suitable pausing while allowing for occasional misreadings.
- Can engage in conversation, comprehending questions and responding appropriately although occasional hesitation, repetitions and re-starts may occur. May have pronunciation/intonation/stress issues that require listener adjustments, but on the overall level, (s)he is intelligible.
- Can use a variety of familiar vocabulary and grammar patterns.
- Can provide a summary in Chinese of a Chinese text.
- Can demonstrate knowledge of Chinese grammar in terms of terminology and structure.
