Rethinking control: Accounting as societal impact
My research explores how management control technologies, accounting practices, and calculative tools shape organizational decision‑making, innovation, and governance. I analyze how performance metrics, intellectual capital valuation, and blockchain accounting affect trust, uncertainty, and collaboration in organizations and society.
Through empirical studies—ranging from venture capital settings to smart cities—I illuminate how accounting can both empower and constrain, fostering responsible innovation across sectors. Projects on calculative practices, design value, and invisible work support sustainable and inclusive decision processes.
I bring research into dialogue with practice, engaging with companies, policymakers, and editorial boards to translate academic insights into societal value. Knighted with the Order of Dannebrog in 2020 for his contributions, I remain committed to bridging scholarship and real‑world impact. c
My ambition is to develop calculative infrastructures that support transparent, fair, and innovation‑driven organizations—enabling actors to navigate complexity with insight and purpose.
