Pen­sion Eco­nom­ics
This re­search ex­am­ines the ef­fects of pen­sion re­forms on the pub­lic sys­tem, com­bin­ing em­pir­ic­al ana­lys­is with struc­tur­al mod­el­ing to provide in­sights for fur­ther policy design.
Edu­ca­tion
This re­search area fo­cuses on eval­u­at­ing the fair­ness of ac­cess to high­er edu­ca­tion, with par­tic­u­lar at­ten­tion to how high school grade in­fla­tion shapes entry op­por­tun­it­ies and equity.

Se­cur­ing ad­equate pen­sions for all re­tir­ees

Individuals deserve a dignified income in retirement. Yet demographic ageing pressures governments to either extend working lives or reduce benefits. My research examines the consequences of such reforms: whether individuals are truly capable of working to later ages, and whether their total pension wealth ensures an adequate income in retirement. Since governments, pension funds, and individuals all play a role in these choices, society must come together to secure better outcomes for everyone.

We study the ef­fects of a 0.5-year in­crease in early and stat­utory pen­sion eli­gib­il­ity ages fol­low­ing a 2011 Dan­ish pen­sion re­form.

High­er Edu­ca­tion Ac­cess Dis­par­it­ies in Por­tugal

This pro­ject in­vest­ig­ates how high school grade in­fla­tion af­fects ac­cess to high­er edu­ca­tion in Por­tugal.
