New chapter to the Edward Elgar Companion to Sustainable Business Models
The “Origin or Environment? A Theological Challenge to the Concept of Sustainability”, examines the historical and theological foundations underlying European conceptions of nature. Associate Professor Camilla Sløk has contributed a chapter to the Edward Elgar Companion to Sustainable Business Models. The chapter, titled “Origin or Environment? A Theological Challenge to the Concept of Sustainability”, examines the historical and theological foundations underlying European conceptions of nature. In particular, it engages with the Danish theologian K. E. Løgstrup’s reflections on whether nature should be understood primarily as a human environment or, more fundamentally, as the origin of human existence. The latter perspective positions the human being as emerging from, and intrinsically embedded within, nature, thereby offering a distinctive theological lens on contemporary sustainability debates. Book publishing will be announced later.
