Project Lead – RELATE, Green Transition in Higher Education

RELATE is a newly funded, two-year pilot programme aimed at supporting students in becoming active contributors to the green transition through interdisciplinary and practice-based learning. We are now seeking a Project Lead to help translate this ambition into concrete formats and activities. The role combines overall responsibility for project progress with active involvement in the design and implementation of RELATE’s initiatives, in close collaboration with Copenhagen Business School and the Student Innovation House, Station.

The role: Project Lead focusing on strategic partnerships and institutional embedding

You will play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with universities and other strategic partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • building and maintaining relationships with universities and academic staff
  • establishing and facilitating a cross-institutional network for educators
  • engaging in dialogue with relevant partners regarding collaboration, relevance, and the application of project insights
  • involving relevant external stakeholders in project activities
  • communicating the project’s purpose, methods, and results in relevant academic and professional contexts

The role requires an ability to navigate the structures and incentives of higher education institutions while maintaining a clear focus on the project’s overall values and objectives.

You likely:

  • have experience with project management and strategic partnership-building in or around higher education institutions
  • understand academic work practices and institutional incentives
  • have experience developing networks or partnerships across organizational boundaries
  • are able to translate complex initiatives into clear narratives that support collaboration
  • are comfortable working both at a strategic level and with practical coordination tasks

Project vision and background

RELATE responds to a growing demand from students, universities, and employers for more meaningful integration of sustainability into higher education. While awareness of environmental and societal challenges is increasing, opportunities for students to engage with sustainability in applied and interdisciplinary ways remain limited across many study programmes.

The project is carried out in partnership between Station and CBS Green Office, in collaboration with students, universities, educators, and external stakeholders.

RELATE has a dual objective:

  • to develop and test practice-based learning formats for students across universities and disciplines, and
  • to support the long-term institutional embedding of project methods and insights within higher education.

Through the pilot, RELATE will explore how extracurricular formats can strengthen green literacy while generating knowledge and approaches that may inform future educational practice across institutions.

Where the project is right now

RELATE is entering its startup phase. While the project’s vision and funding are secured, many of its structures—governance, formats, and workflows—are still being developed. We therefore seek a project lead who is motivated by building both the project and its foundations in practice.

Like Station, CBS Green Office is recruiting a Project Lead for the RELATE programme. We are therefore seeking a Project Lead who, together with their counterpart at Station, will be responsible for driving RELATE from its startup phase through to completion. The two Project Leads will form an equal and collaborative project team, sharing responsibilities while each contributing their own area of professional expertise.

As Project Lead at CBS Green Office, you will work jointly with the Project Lead based at Station to ensure the project’s development, prioritisation, and overall progress. You will collaborate with colleagues across both Station and the Green Office teams, who will support the development and implementation of the project through their experience in communication, community engagement, events, and the facilitation of learning programmes.
