About the role

Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship (CSE) at CBS seeks a Head of Development & Impact to lead a team focused on funding enablement, policy advisory, and developing new approaches for research knowledge activation. This strategic leadership position shapes CSE's financial sustainability, policy influence, and creates innovative pathways for CBS researchers to connect with society while building team capacity and ensuring operational excellence in budgeting, compliance, and impact measurement.

 

Key responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team responsible for funding, impact analysis, and developing new research activation approaches
  • Build team capabilities in funding acquisition, policy analysis, and innovation in knowledge transfer
  • Create collaborative team culture that fosters professional growth and cross-functional excellence
  • Define roles, responsibilities, growth pathways as the team develops, while providing performance management with ongoing coaching and feedback

 

Funding Enablement & Financial Management

  • Secure funding through grants, partnerships, and competitive mechanisms
  • Manage budgeting, financial planning, and controller functions ensuring compliance and legal basis for fund usage
  • Ensure effective resource allocation aligned with strategic priorities

 

Policy Advisory & Impact Analysis

  • Lead team in conducting policy analysis that informs ecosystem development and advocacy
  • Oversee impact analysis that generates new research questions for CBS researchers
  • Measure and communicate CSE's societal and economic impact
  • Ensure production of impact reports utilized by policy makers, researchers, and practitioners

 

Research Knowledge Activation & Knowledge Transfer Innovation

  • Develop new approaches and pathways for activating CBS researchers' knowledge for practitioner audiences
  • Create innovative knowledge transfer mechanisms between research and practice
  • Design new ways to facilitate collaboration between researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry partners
  • Pilot and test novel approaches to research-practice integration

 

Your profile

We are looking for a strategic leader with proven team leadership experience and expertise in funding mechanisms, policy engagement, and research-practice integration.

You likely have:

  • Relevant academic background (Master's or PhD in business, public policy, innovation studies, or related field)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in funding acquisition, impact assessment, or research management – preferably in university, public sector, or innovation contexts
  • Demonstrated success in securing competitive grants and managing funding portfolios
  • Strong understanding of Danish and European funding mechanisms for innovation and research
  • Experience with financial management, budgeting, and compliance in public or academic settings
  • Proven ability of knowledge of policy analysis and complex stakeholder engagement
  • Experience enabling researcher engagement with non-academic audiences
  • Experience in researcher activation and creating conditions for knowledge transfer to non-academic audiences
  • Excellent communication skills in Danish and English
  • Strategic mindset with operational rigor and attention to detail
  • Ability to lead and develop a team while collaborating across organizational boundaries

Workplace & Terms

The position is based at CSE, Frederiksberg, with regular stakeholder engagement across CBS and externally.

This is a permanent full-time position starting no later than March 16, 2026 or as soon as possible. The position is classified as Chefkonsulent med personaleansvar.

Employment and remuneration follow the current collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the relevant professional organization, with classification and salary based on qualifications and experience. Personal supplement negotiable upon employment.
