Copenhagen Business School invites applications for a Research Assistant position at the Center for Enterprise Foundations (CEFS), part of the Department of Accounting

CEFS is a research center dedicated to the study of enterprise foundations—foundations that own companies. These foundations play a significant role in Denmark and internationally and are characterised by their combination of nonprofit and business activities, long-term ownership, and the balancing of philanthropic and commercial goals. The center’s research covers topics such as foundation ownership models, governance structures, board practices, organizational purpose, sustainability to name a few.

As a research assistant, you will join the center’s research team and contribute to a wide range of projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in research projects, including working with data and programs such as Stata
  • Contributing to quantitative analyses, writing, literature reviews, and conference preparations
  • Helping to generate and disseminate research-based knowledge about enterprise foundations through publications, seminars, podcasts, and social media
  • Taking part in CEFS internal seminars and events with visiting international researchers

About you:
We are looking for a dedicated individual who has experience in processing quantitative data and statistics, either from their studies or previous jobs, as well as knowledge of statistical programs such as Stata, SAS, R or similar. Your efforts will contribute to exciting research and give you the opportunity to develop quantitative skills in a professional context.

Qualifications

  • An economics-related master’s degree, e.g., cand.polit., cand.oecon, or cand.merc. (econ, finance, math) which provides a solid understanding of economics and/or statistics.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Willingness to learn new methods.
  • Good English proficiency due to an international working environment.
  • Good Danish proficiency is an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • Knowledge of Stata is an advantage, but not necessary.

Copenhagen Business School has a broad commitment to the excellence, distinctiveness and relevance of its teaching and research programmes. Candidates who wish to join us should demonstrate enthusiasm for working in an organisation of this type (highlighting, for example, relevant business, educational and dissemination activities).

Terms of employment

The expected starting date is June 15.

Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
