Meet Jalil, a student from BSc in Business Administration and Service Management

Why did I choose my programme?
I chose this programme because of its versatility in exposing me to various aspects of business, including finance, management, strategy, and economics. It allows me to explore different areas and discover what excites me the most, helping me make informed decisions about my future master's programme.

What do I like the best?
What I enjoy the most is the diversity of courses and the presence of students from various backgrounds. This programme has a high number of foreign students, creating a vibrant multicultural environment. Additionally, CBS provides a multitude of opportunities for engaging in societies and events, offering a rich and fulfilling student experience.

What do I think is difficult?
The most challenging aspect for me is adapting to studying entirely in English. Additionally, the programme's emphasis on personal responsibility is demanding. With a quarter structure and fewer weekly lectures, self-discipline becomes crucial for success in managing coursework effectively.

What would I have liked to have known before starting my programme?
Before starting the programme, I would have liked to know that it is one of the most math-oriented international programmes at CBS. Despite the prior emphasis on math in the programme description, it can still come as a surprise to some individuals. The math taught builds upon pre-existing knowledge from high school, so it can be challenging for those who have taken several gap years or struggled with math in the past.

What do I want to do after finishing my programme?
After completing the programme, my goal is to embark on a career in consulting. I see consulting as an excellent opportunity to gain expertise in various subjects and develop a broad range of competencies.

If I could give myself a piece of advice, before starting it would be…
Embrace and enjoy the experience from the start. Your years at CBS will be the most memorable. Recognize the privilege of joining a competitive university like CBS, appreciate the academic knowledge, and seize networking opportunities. CBS is a gold mine of opportunities, so engage in events and societies for a fulfilling social aspect. Embrace the holistic experience, making the most of every opportunity.
