Thank you to all who joined us for The Startup Leadership Summit!

The event brought together a diverse audience of leadership experts, researchers, business professionals, and startup leaders to discuss how founders can effectively transition into taking on the role of a leader to foster organizational and company growth potential.

The lineup featured practitioners with hands-on experience from the start-up ecosystem along with leadership researchers from CBS.

Mercedes Delgado, associate professor at CBS, gave an insightful keynote on her leadership research, highlighting the importance of not only defining you business strategy but also choosing your startup ethics and values. Her presentation was followed by a discussion, flawlessly moderated by Eric Guthey - another distinguished leadership researcher at CBS.

The subsequent panel debate with Mathias Horn, Katrine Lee Larsen, Cathrine K. Reimann and Jonas Gyalokay, was facilitated by Pernille Brun, and gave a unique opportunity to see leadership research unfold through personal testimonies on real life experience. It was a showcase on what authentic leadership is all about, with important takeaways on how the role of being a founder and a leader with a big drive might also push you over the edge – and how to come back on the leadership track with strategies not only for business, but also for mental health.

To conclude the event, remote from the American West coast, David Heinemeier Hansson joined a conversation with Mia Jung Elmertoft to discuss what we can learn about leadership from poor managers. The title of his latest book It Doesn’t Have to Be Crazy at Work says a lot about the center point for his passionate talk and bold advice.

The event was hosted by Mia Jung Elmertoft and our own Eva Fog Bruun, backed by Morten Irgens who presented the CBS vision for impact on society.
Indeed, this event was all about making an impact – through leadership.
