Governing innovation for a sustainable future
My research examines how governance and innovation can help societies respond to major sustainability challenges. I focus on:
Innovation policy – designing and evaluating policy instruments that shape innovation processes and outcomes.
Governance of change – understanding how new technologies and practices scale up in socio-technical systems such as energy and transport.
Transformative innovation and green transitions – how organizations and policies enable environmentally sustainable innovations.
Public sector capacity – building the capabilities of governments and public sector organizations to implement innovative solutions for green transitions.
With this work, I aim to inform policymakers, organizations, and civil society on how to design effective governance strategies that foster democratic participation, strengthen legitimacy, and accelerate the transition toward a sustainable future.
