Primary research areas
Rethinking business for social impact
I am an Associate Professor at Copenhagen Business School whose research explores how businesses can meaningfully engage in humanitarian action and uphold human rights — transforming business activity into positive societal change.
As lead on the HUMAC research initiative — generously funded by Velux Fonden — I investigate how private firms and humanitarian organizations can collaborate to deliver ethical and effective relief, using in-depth qualitative methods and set-theoretic approaches. I am passionate about translating these insights into educational practice by developing teaching cases and modules that bring these topics into the business school curriculum.
Another key research strand examines how communities and stakeholders can hold corporations accountable for human rights violations and encourage them to improve their practices, especially through non-judicial mechanisms.
