Primary research areas

Macroeconomic theory
Macroeconomic theory focusses on how shocks and frictions shape the behavior of households, firms, and policymakers in dynamic macroeconomic environments.
Labor Markets and Business Cycles
Explores how labor markets respond to macroeconomic fluctuations, including the role of unemployment, wages, and job flows.
Computational Economics
Uses numerical methods to analyze complex macroeconomic models with heterogeneity, frictions, and aggregate uncertainty.
Expectations and Economic Dynamics
Studies how expectations influence economic outcomes, particularly their role in shaping volatility, persistence, and policy effectiveness.

I seek to uncover the forces that shape our economy

My research focuses on macroeconomic dynamics and policy design. I study how economic fluctuations interact with government policies, with the goal of improving our understanding of when and how government interventions can stabilize the economy.

A significant part of my work involves developing and analyzing models with heterogeneous agents—models that better reflect real-world inequality, consumption behavior, and risk exposure. These models help policymakers and researchers evaluate how different groups are affected by macroeconomic shocks and which policies promote more inclusive outcomes.

I also work on improving the computational tools used in modern macroeconomics. By advancing how we solve and simulate complex models, my research supports more accurate quantitative predictions and better-informed policy decisions.

Beyond academic research, my academic citizenship includes editorial roles and mentoring doctoral students. I aim to bring analytical clarity to key economic issues—ranging from fiscal sustainability to inequality—and help shape policies grounded in rigorous economic reasoning.
