Om
I show wealth gender gaps, I create awareness that can make a change
Drivers of gender differences
I want to understand what drives the difference between the financial assets of men and women, including pension assets, which are my primary field of research, but I also wish to learn more about what causes the differences in other assets such as real property and shares between men and women.
Political impact
I hope that my research can make a difference and place focus on pension savings inequality. My research is relevant for society and may lead to political change and action in the long term.
Reducing gender wealth gaps
There are significant differences between the pension assets of men and women. We know that a part of the explanation is related to gender differences in income, but differences in saving behavior, financial knowledge, and risk taking could also matter. I investigate how these things are connected and what could help to reduce gender inequality in wealth. My focus is particularly on gender gaps in pension wealth.
Understanding gender differences in saving behavior and financial literacy
I investigate men and women’s responses to individualization of assets using a Danish pension reform to understand gender differences in saving behavior and financial literacy.
From micro data to macroeconomic impact
I use applied econometrics and quantitative macroeconomics with Danish register data in the cross field of household finance, gender economics, and family economics to increase the level of awareness on gender gaps and differences in saving behavior – both among ordinary people and politicians.
