China's Economic Reform and Development: Domestic and International Challenges

Asia Research Centre has the pleasure of inviting you to a lecture by the prominent Chinese scholar and statesman Professor Cheng Siwei, Dean of the School of Management at the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS)

For 10 years Professor Cheng Siwei served as Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congres of China. After retiring from this position, he now serves as Dean at UCAS, President of the Chinese Society for Management Modernization, and Director for the Research Centre on Fictitious Economy and Data Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, among other responsibilities. He holds numerous honorary positions, among others he is a member of the Joint Managerial Committee of the Sino-Danish University Centre for Research and Development in Beijing.

Professor Cheng Siwei is a prominent scholar who has authored important books within economic development, science and technology, and reform of the public sector in China. He was among the first to introduce the concept of venture capital in China and is credited as the "father of the Chinese Venture Capital Industry". His latest publication is a three volume work entitled Economic Reform and Development in China.
