Why international inventor teams matter?

A new study shows that international inventor teams are positively associated with both related and unrelated technological variety of multinational firms. Positive effects are linked cultural differences and heterogeneous knowledge of teams integrating inventors across countries. Yet, the study points also to management and coordination costs reducing the benefits from international inventor teams. LINK
