Center for Financial Frictions will be hosting a FRIC Practitioner Seminar with Henrik Bjerre-Nielsen, CEO Finansiel Stabilitet on December 6, 2016.

The seminar is open to all and no registration is necessary.

Title: Resolution of Danish banks – past, present and future

Abstract: The resolution regimes of Danish banks in the past 20 years are investigated – starting with an analysis of the costs of applying regular insolvency regulation to banks. Moving to the various resolution tools available before and during the financial crisis. Ending up with the recent implementation into Danish regulation of the resolution tools from EU Banking Recovery and Resolution Directive. Questions such as the following are to be answered: What is bail-in? How to resolve major banks operating in several jurisdictions. Are bail-outs ruled out in the future?
