Darrell West from the world's most influential think tank will visit CBS
Public lecture by Darrell West from the Brookings Institution
On May 12, Darrell will do a talk on Wealth, Politics, and Democracy, a topic that is very relevant today, as wealth inequality reaches historic highs worldwide, policy-makers and scholars are scrambling for ways to address the growing crisis. He will further discuss billionaire political activism, income inequality, and recent elections with an eye towards examining the implications for democracy and the political process. Drawing from his new book, Billionaires: Reflections on the Upper Crust, West will also discuss contemporary developments in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
About Darrell West
Darrell West is the Vice President of Governance Studies and Director of the Center for Technology Innovation at the Brookings Institution, which is ranked as the most influential think tank in the world. Previously, he was the John Hazen White Professor of Political Science and Public Policy and Director of the Taubman Center for Public Policy at Brown University. His current research focuses on technology policy, health care, and education.
