PPP at the Fourth International Whitlam Workshop

Along with Academic Director Paul du Gay, PPP members Kirstine Zinck Pedersen and Thomas Lopdrup-Hjorth were guests at the Fourth International Whitlam Workshop held at the Whitlam Institute, University of Western Sydney on 10-11th, August, and organised under the rubric of its Human Rights and Public Life Programme.

Kirstine, Thomas and Paul presented three papers based on their ongoing work on Public Office, supported by the Velux Foundation in Denmark. Fellow guests included Professor Peter Cane, Distinguished Professor of Law at the Australian National University, Professor Alon Harel, Hebrew University Law Faculty and PPP Visiting Fellow in 2012, and Professor Janet MacLean, Professor of Law at the University of Auckland, and member of the advisory board of the Velux Foundation Office as a Vocation research project.

The Fourth International Whitlam Workshop

Paul and Kirstine also held meetings with the Whitlam Institute's Director, Eric Sidoti, and Research Professor, Anna Yeatman, as part of the PPP's ongoing partnership with the Institute. On 12th August, the PPP and Whitlam teams met with Bob Debus, former Attorney General of New South Wales, and Margaret Wilson, former Attorney General of New Zealand, to discuss the organization of a joint event on Public Office holding to be held in Canberra in 2016".
