It is Along Ways: 

Global Payment Infrastructure in Movement

The anomaly is that while the global payment infrastructure develops without precedent, the infrastructure takes time to develop and does not easily leave anything behind. Based on abduction and following Heidegger’s and Bateson’s works, this thesis unfolds an ontological approach that helps clarify how the global payment infrastructure develops. In doing so, this study reveals movement in infrastructure development and revisits predominant assumptions in infrastructure studies, which emphasise infrastructure’s persistence and change.
