Case Center globale Case Impact Index

In a recent global Case Impact Index, The Case Centre has analysed the usage data on the platform and determined the reach and impact cases have had during the last academic year. Copenhagen Business School has placed 9th on the Impact Index ranking made by The case Centre.

As a principle learning methodology, the case method, first established at Harvard Business School over a century ago, is being used and developed across business schools worldwide. Many courses at CBS make use of teaching cases where students are engaged in real-life dilemmas and decision making in a safe and academic setting. At the same time, CBS faculty are continuously developing course materials and teaching cases and make them available for use worldwide.

CBS currently has two case collections available on The Case Centre: the Nordic Case House collection, launched in 2023 with a focus on Nordic economic and business models, and the Free case collection, established in 2016 as part of CBS’ continuous commitment to the Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME), with a specific focus on sustainability and responsible management from a broad perspective.

Nikolaj Malchow-Møller, CBS president, reflects on the importance of cases in CBS education and on the current CBS position in the Impact Index: “Developing teaching cases in our programmes is one of the ways in which we achieve our core strategic priorities. Cases strengthen both fundamental business knowledge and build transformational capabilities in our students through active engagement in classrooms and by collaboratively reaching solutions and recommendations.

CBS supports faculty in writing teaching cases as this brings about new ways of integrating latest research into education, as well as new collaborations, both among CBS’s diverse staff, but also with the business, government and civil society.

We are very proud to see CBS ranked among the first 10 universities worldwide in The Case Centre Impact Index. This result is a testament to our staff’s dedication and talent and to their constant commitment to the delivery of high-quality and impact-oriented education. This also demonstrates that our case writing initiatives are having a positive impact on business education globally.”

Earlier this year, LookOut: Visionary Entrepreneurship in a Digital World, one of CBS cases published on the Case Centre, won the Free Case Collection category award and the authors of the case were presented with the award in a ceremony at CBS.
