Monday, January 27, 2014 - 10:00 to Tuesday, January 28, 2014 - 19:00

The field of communication is becoming more and more international, which increases the pressure on future communicators. This is the reason that the Danish Association of Communication Professionals, Young Communicators and Copenhagen Business School for the fourth time will host the annual case competition in global communication.

This year’s case company is international media conglomerate Egmont, who asks the participants to propose a digital branding strategy within the 24 hour time frame. Previous case companies have been leading Danish international players Coloplast, Carlsberg and Maersk Group.

- ComCaseCompetition has grown to be a meeting point for the communication industry, students, researchers and our large international companies, says Lisbeth Eckhardt-Hansen, Head of Development, Danish Association of Communication Professionals.

CareerBar

In relation to the competition there will be a CareerBar, where students can meet potential employers in the industry. Communicators from 10 different organizations from public and private industry as well as consultancies will present how the industry works and discuss career and internships with the student audience.

Several of the prior participants have gotten internships and jobs with participating companies and sponsors.

Network and industry insight

- You build a strong network with the other students, experts and companies involved in the case competition. Being part of ComCaseCompetition has given me a great start on my professional career as I now have a clearer view regarding my own competences, says Lars Pallisgaard, winner of the 2012 ComCaseCompetition, who now works as Media Relations Officer in Novo Nordisk A/S.

Join the public Grand Finale on January 28th from 4pm-7pm

at Copenhagen Business School, Solbjerg Plads 3, room 201

International Exchange
The case competition is open for communication students from all parts of the world. This year students from 14 countries applied for the Egmont challenge.

- Globalization increases the demand for more international exchange and cooperation. With competitors from all over the world, students have the opportunity to measure themselves against other nationalities and most importantly build relations, says Karl Heinz Pogner, Associate Professor at Department of Intercultural Communication and Management at Copenhagen Business School.

About ComCaseCompetition’14

ComCaseCompetition is a competition where communication students compete to come up with the best solution to a global case – this year provided by Egmont. Three teams will move on to the final and present their solution to a jury of communication experts and a wider audience attending the finals

ComCaseCompetition 14 is organized by The Danish Association of Communication Professionals, Young Communicators and Copenhagen Business School in collaboration with Egmont. The goal is, among other things, to bring communication students and businesses closer together and thus prepare the students for a future job as well as to clarify the student’s skills to the employers.
