Professor Larissa Rabbiosi gave a speech today, at the CBS Competitiveness event, making the case why human capital analytics should be part of your business strategy. She provided some interesting examples of how to make data-driven business decisions. Larissa discussed why data gathering and analysis should be based on a specific business problem formulation or a “why” question, which is strategic in nature. She emphasized why acting and following up on results of analysis are crucial for success. The ultimate purpose of human capital analytics is to gather, analyze, and use data as part of predictive analytics. That may involve the development of predictive models, scenario planning, risk analysis and mitigation, and an integration with strategic planning of an organization. The vital part of the process is to have competent people on your team, including a business, quantitative, and an academic buddy.
