PeRCent Annual Conference 2023
The Pension Research Centre (PeRCent) at CBS is proud to announce its ninth annual conference, to be held on November 7, 2023, at CBS. Sign up now.
The research presentations at this year’s conference will present new evidence on whether mandatory pension savings crowd out voluntary saving; why the demand for reverse mortgages is so low; if pension funds cause capital market deepening; and how individuals optimize their liquidity positions when thinking about early pension withdrawals.
This year’s keynote address will be given by Professor Francisco Gomes from London Business School. Professor Gomes is a leading international expert in the areas of asset allocation, household finance and macroeconomics. He will talk about life-cycle asset allocation.
Moreover, the forthcoming conference will feature presentations from the following speakers: Torben M. Andersen, Henrik Yde Andersen, Alina Bartscher, Hazel Bateman, Torsten Fels, Marcel Fischer, Francisco Gomez, Svend Erik Hougaard Jensen, Peter Stensgaard Mørch, Sigurdur P. Olafsson, Oliver-Alexander Press, Jesper Rangvid, Ofer Setty, Allan Timmermann, and Gylfi Zoega.
The policy forum will this year mark the 30th anniversary of the first contributions to mandatory labour-market pensions in Denmark. The forum will debate how this has influenced the Danish economy, with a focus on challenges ahead for the current system. The forum also includes a debate on whether there exists an “optimal” size of a pension fund. Panellists will represent pension funds, organizations, and academic institutions.
The conference is a joint initiative between Copenhagen Business School and the Danish pension industry and is organized by CBS-professors Svend E. Hougaard Jensen and Jesper Rangvid.
