Leadership Development in the Public Sector 2 (Leadership development 2)
Leadership and leadership development (LD) are increasingly emphasised as crucial elements for modernising and creating more efficient public sector organizations. However, our knowledge about the organizational (in contrast to individual) effects of LD activities is limited. This project will explore the potential constitutive effects of LD programmes, through field studies both of programmes and participants’ everyday work activities and through a survey-based study of conceptions of leadership and followership. We will trace the export of practices, discourses and identities from leadership programmes to organizations, exploring the unfolding dynamics of deployment in everyday work.
