PhD defence: Mathew Abraham

In order to obtain the PhD degree, Mathew Abraham has submitted his thesis entitled: New Cooperativism: A study of emerging producer organisations in India

Using a conceptual framework of institutional and collective action theories, this study conducted a multiple case study analysis in an attempt to identify the (a) the importance of the producer organisations in mitigating problems of small and marginal producer access and production (b) how they are formed and coordinated to become effective collective actions and (c) what are the potential benefits these organisations bring to small and marginal households.
