This year’s admission numbers for CBS master’s programmes

While other universities are experiencing a bit of a setback, CBS is growing

CBS welcomes 2,957 new master’s students in 2008. The number of 1st priority applications has risen by 8 % corresponding to 237 more applications than in 2007. This is despite the fact that several Danish universities see a decline in the number of applications.

- We have improved our ability to hold on to our present students by having a transparent education portfolio. It is easy to change from one concentration to another. I also believe that we are starting to see the outcome of long-term efforts initiated many years ago, where our aim was to improve the study environment and make it more attractive to the students, says Dean of Education Jan Molin.

Old friends and new faces

It is not just CBS students who apply for the numerous master's programmes at CBS. Students from other universities also apply to a large extent. As much as 49 % of the applicants for the master’s programmes come from other universities.

- CBS offers a modern and flexible institution with future potentiale. Our new and updated programmes and our attractive campus make us very competitive. Furthermore we can boast about our first-class administrative system. We offer a personal service that you do not see at other institutions. But our good reputation is what really makes us stand out from the crowd, says Jan Molin.

Economics and international partnerships are the future

At the moment we see a national tendency, where there is great demand for MSc’s in Economics. CBS is the number one offeror of master's programmes within business economics in Denmark, and is therefore able to provide the students with the skills that society demands. CBS has a large supply of foreign professors and programmes taught in English which makes us more international than most universities. We are therefore able to create an international environment for foreign as well as Danish students. As much as 36 % of all 1st priority applicants are students with another ethnic background than Danish.
