Flemming Poulfeldt appointed new member of the Danish Council for Business Research

The Danish Council for Technology and Innovation (RTI) has appointed Flemming Poulfelt, Professor at the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy at CBS, as a new member of the Danish Council for Business Research.

This year, the Council expanded by eight new members to 25 members in all. The Council’s job is to evaluate Business PhD applications and pass on their evaluations to RTI, which then takes the final decision.

The reason behind the Council expansion is the increasing interest in the Business PhD scheme. In 2007, RTI received 174 applications, which is 34 percent more than in 2006. The expansion also means a strengthening of the academic broadness as the Humanities and Social Science now have five new representatives, including Flemming Poulfelt.

The Business PhD scheme

will secure more researchers and a closer interaction, among other things, in the form of an exchange of knowledge between businesses and universities. Business PhDs are therefore attached to private businesses while working on their research projects.
