CBS-competition activates interdisciplinary competences

Can you win new markets in Germany without knowing the language or the culture? Most case competitions focus heavily on economical solutions – however, if businesses are to survive in a globalized world, the employees are required to have a general understanding of linguistic, communicative and cultural conditions.

This is the main idea behind a new competition at CBS at the end of March – CBS Solution – which –using Vestas as a case – will be focusing on the intersection between culture, communication, language and economy. Actually it is the first of its kind in Denmark.

Responsibility for your own learning

The initiative came from students and the goal is to develop professionally with a different way of learning. Barbara Saitta, a student and one of the initiators of the competition says that by participating in CBS Solutions you kick start your career and take responsibility for your own learning process.

There is great support for the initiative at CBS. “The competition is very relevant to Danish businesses who have to prepare to act in a globalized world and therefore need employees who understand linguistic, communicative and cultural conditions”, says Professor and Dean of Education Jan Molin.

The competition will take place March 28th – 30th, 2007 and is only for students from CBS.
