"It is still a common assumption that the world is something “out there”, however that is not true. Globalisation starts when we are at the airport. It starts with us and the way we set up our society and our companies,” explains Professor Torben Pedersen, who is one of the people behind the new debate book.

The book “Globalisation starts in Denmark – the business challenge” argues that Danish companies be careful which activities they keep in Denmark and which are moved to countries paying less.

“It has been the impression that, by moving standardized and routine oriented activities out of the country, Denmark would maintain its position and wealth. However we should not rest on our laurels, it is not guarantied that we be the best and the wisest.”

Apart from Professor Torben Pedersen at CBS the book is co-written by Research Manager Ole Kirkelund, CEO Jette Steen Knudsen (both associated with The Copenhagen Centre) as well as Consultant Rikke Kolbech Andersen and Consultant in Deloitte Business Consulting Jacob Pyndt.
