Danish president for Graduate Business Forum.

26-year-old Peter Kiær has just returned home from this year’s Graduate Business Conference in Singapore with the title of President. Peter Kjær’s job will be to coordinate the development of Graduate Business Forum to an actual network across geographical borders and age of graduates.

So far the forum has primarily focused on holding an annual conference and this is what has encouraged Peter Kjær to put in even more hours.

-I was one of the organizers of the 2006 conference when it was held at CBS and it motivated me to see the value of doing something as simple as gathering people and letting them talk about something important. Now I look forward to developing the forum into an actual network, says Peter Kiær who participated in 2005 for the first time. Back then he was just a delegate.

Networking 365 days a year

He thinks one of the most important tasks is to utilize the relations created during the conference, all year round. Instead of enjoying each other only three days a year, it has to be 365 days a year. The goal is that Graduate Business Forum is not just a network for current participants but also for those who participated 20 years ago. The participants can use each other for knowledge sharing and recruiting.

- One of our tasks is to support the student leaders. It has been easy to get support from CBS but it is not like that with all schools and we will help those that find it hard to get support from their own school. This may be in the form of business contacts, says Peter Kiær who will have a MSc in Business Administration and Philosophy this summer.

Graduate Business Forum is the American mother organization behind Graduate Business Conference. 2007 marked the 25-year anniversary of the conference, which for the first time was held outside the US in 2006 – at CBS. Through the years 2500 student leaders from the highest-ranking schools in the US, Europe, Asia, and Australia have participated in the conferences.

The purpose of the forum is to focus on management and innovation in relation to leading a student organization.
