TDC’s acquisition and divestment strategy

Executive Briefing with Henning Dyremose, President and CEO, TDC

Thursday, February 24, 2005 - 17:30 to 19:00

Executive Briefing with Henning Dyremose, President and CEO, TDC.

The global telecommunications industry has witnessed a wave of mergers and acquisitions in recent years. The ongoing consolidation, in particular of the market for mobile telecommunication, must be seen as a reaction to the expected decline in market growth. The expected increase in telecommunication via the internet as well as huge investment requirements in new infrastructure also drives consolidation.

TDC has very actively pursued M&A transactions and the company has a clear approach to M&A: TDC wants to obtain control in order to improve governance and to realize synergies. Should this not be possible, divestments will be made when a satisfactory price can be achieved. TDC does not restrict itself to markets, where it currently has a leading position (e.g. Denmark and Switzerland). Hence, it is a crucial part of TDC’s M&A strategy to secure future growth through continued expansion in Northern and Central Europe and through transfer of successful business concepts to new markets.

In his presentation, president and CEO, Henning Dyremose will address TDC’s recent M&A transactions and relate them to TDC’s overall corporate strategy. For further information on TDC visit
