Development, Current Status, and Potential for Academia and Business Practice

Supply Chain Management (SCM) can be characterized as the realization of an inter-organizational flow orientation that helps to solve specific connection problems. SCM allows the coexistence of cooperative and competitive behavior (= coopetition) which is primarily necessary to meet the requirements of fast changing environments. 'The lecture will give an outlook to future research in SCM which should deal with following key areas: hypercompetition and consequences for inter-organizational business processes, widening and broadening the scope of SCM, sustainable supply chains, measuring of the performance of supply chain integration and the organizational structure dimension within value constellation settings.

After the lecture, the Department is hosting a reception.
