Global Transition of Power

Seminar

Jørgen Ørstrøm Møller, Visiting Senior Research Fellow at Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, Singapore and Adjunct Professor at the Copenhagen Business School

The impact of Globalization on our societies and consequently for the framework and conditions for international enterprises are strong and relentless.  What we see is a global transition of power - politically and economically - to the benefit of Asia.  The challenges for the international system and the leading power, USA, is huge. The reaction argues whether a new political and economic architecture can be established or whether the established powers will try to resist such a change. The answer to this question will be found in the US attitude towards Globalization and institutionalisation in Asia and may well determine not only the transition of global power but whether Globalization itself survives and if yes in which shape.

Jørgen Ørstrøm Møller is former Danish Ambassador to Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Australia, and New Zealand. He is currently a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS), Singapore, and Adjunct Professor at the Asia Research Centre, Copenhagen Business School (CBS).
