Tuesday, June 15, 2004 - 10:00

Lecture by Dr. Karen Barad, Copenhagen Lecture Series, 2 of 3.

Three lectures are being delivered as a series. Each talk has a different emphasis. Successive talks build on the previous ones. This is the second lecture:

"Meeting the Universe Halfway: Towards a Performative Understanding of Scientific and Other Material-Discursive Practices"

How can the fundamental notions such as matter, causality, and agency be rethought in order to determine what it means for natural and social forces to be productive?

The lectures will be held on June 14, 15 and 18. The lectures are arranged by the Department of Organization and Industrial Sociology and the Department of Management, Politics & Philosophy.
