Employee appointed Board members and Corporate Governance

Seminar arranged by Center for Corporate Governance

Wednesday, May 24, 2006 - 14:00 to 16:00

In connection with a new book entitled "Medarbejdervalgte bestyrelsesmedlemmer - en udfordring for Dansk selskabsledelse" (Employee appointed board members - a challenge for Danish corporate governance) by Caspar Rose and Hans Kurt Kvist we would like to invite you to a seminar concerning the roles and functions of employee elected board members. During the seminar the authors will present the main findings of the book focusing on whether the employee elected board members have any real influence on the decision process, and whether employee representatives are more orientated towards protecting the interests of stakeholders other than the owners. At the seminar, there will also be a presentation and description of the German system where employees have a high degree of co-determination, which has recently come under pressure due to Germany's economic problems. The seminar will end with a short comment by Professor Steen Thomsen about the future of employee appointed board members in the

light of the discussion about corporate governance.
